Text Box: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2009 + GET TOGETHER FOR 2009/10 SHOW The Annual General Meeting of the Society will be held on SUNDAY JULY 26TH 2009 commencing at 7.30pm in THE PALACE THEATRE , PAIGNTON (THE BAR LOUNGE) Refreshments will be available at the meeting. If you are unable to attend this important meeting please tender apologies in writing, or by telephone, to me at the address above. Your attendance is advised so that a good number are present, particularly for the get-together. Juniors, their parents, and dancers are especially asked to attend, and as many of the 08/09 cast as possible. Nominations are invited (from and for existing members only) for the positions of Hon. Treasurer, and 1 committee member for 3 years each. (Ranee Read, the current Treasurer, is offering herself for re-election, and Hazel Laugee, the retiring committee member, is also offering herself for re-election.) If anyone wishes to nominate themselves for the position of Hon. Treasurer or Committee member they may do so. All Nominations must be signed by the person nominating, and also by a seconder and should be sent to me to arrive no later than 7.30pm on Wednesday July 22nd . Any incorrect or late nominations will not be considered. If you wish to nominate someone please use the form provided. Please note that all positions on sub committees are not official (i.e. social, production etc.) and do not come up for consideration at the AGM. You are also reminded that the sitting committee continues to hold office until the conclusion of the AGM at which the successors (if any) are elected. Therefore the current committee shall have the power to decide any questions arising out of the rules as currently exist, or answer any queries put forward at the meeting. “JACK AND THE BEANSTALK” GET TOGETHER After the business of the AGM has been concluded, the rest of the evening will be devoted to our next Pantomime, which is an old favourite of ours “Jack and the Beanstalk”. The run is from TUESDAY DECEMBER 22nd until SUNDAY JANUARY 3rd 2010. The production team consists of IAIN DOUGLAS (Director) ELAINE JOHNSON AND AMANDA COOTE (joint choreographers) and Musical Director JOHN AMERY .They will tell you all about the show, what parts are available, and what is expected at auditions and at rehearsals. You will find attached an information sheet about the pantomime and auditions. Details of audition pieces and characters will be available at the Get Together. Scripts, priced at £8 will be available if required, but must be paid for first, and must be returned in good condition at the auditions. Those not successful in gaining a role will have their money refunded. If you know of anyone who is interested in joining us for the next pantomime, please bring them along to the get-together. (Particularly male/female adult chorus members !!) We are also in need of helpers for back stage and front of house, shifting scenery, selling draw tickets and programmes, looking after the children, helping with props and make up, and dressing.
