A new book is to be published in April chronicling the history of the Palace Theatre. Well known local author and dear friend to this theatre Peggy Parnell has written a book giving the history of the Palace Theatre from its days as the Public Hall in 1890 to the present day. The book is published by local publisher Creative Media and it will be officially launched at the Palace Theatre on Saturday18 th April.
Peggy is very generously donating £2.00 of every book sold to the funds of the Friends of the Palace Theatre. We say a big big thank you to Peggy, and we are delighted to help with the launch. Tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided, and Peggy will be signing books in the bar of the theatre on 18 th April at 12 noon. The bar will of course be open if anyone would like to celebrate in style. Creative Media are hoping that a local celebrity (as yet unnamed for a big surprise) will be able to attend to give the book a good send off, and of course we hope that as many of you as possible will be joining us on that day which we hope to make a very special occasion. So put the date in your diary and come and join the party.
