We usually visit a Panto around Christmas time with the grandchildren and as we live in Buckfastleigh usually head for Plymouth. Seeing Aladdin advertised in the Herald we thought we could visit Paignton this year instead... Well.......What a good decision.. It was brilliant. From the start to finish the cast were so busy, funny and obviously enjoying it as well.  Praise also to the costumes, lighting and everything else that needs to be organised. We shall certainly be back next year..Thank you for such a lovely enjoyable evening. Also,, not been in the Palace before.,  really impressed. Good views wherever you sit. Peter.

“Pantomime has everything theatrical – song, dance, verse, slapstick, soliloquy, audience participation, spectacle, cross-dressing and a good plot, strong on morality and romance.

What more could you want for a family outing?

…I believe there’s more pure theatre in a pantomime than you get in Shakespeare, and if it works, it’s unforgettable “

Sir Ian McKellen - November 2004

“ I’ve yet to find any gizmo from the digital age that can match pantomime for genuine interactivity…… ”Look behind you” and “Oh no it isn’t” still can’t be beat for getting a child involved.

Stephen Fry October 2007
