Iain Douglas - Secretary

lain directed his sixth panto on the trot for PPP in 2001, although his involvement with the company started in 1980. For 15 years he appeared as either the comic or dame until he took over the director's hot seat for 'Dick Whittington" in 1996/97. He joined the committee in 1982 and has served as Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Secretary.

He is currently doing the treasurers job again of short notice. He is also responsible for the programme, and in the past has won two South West NODA Awards for the best programme and also one National NODA Award for best programme. lain is also secretary of TOADS Operatic, and with that company and Torquay Operatic has played many leading roles at the Princess Theatre, Little Theatre and this theatre.

These include "'Singin' in the Raid' (Cosmo), "Half a Sixpence" (Kipps), "Anything Goes" (Lord Evelyn), "Cabaret (Cliff), 'A Little Night Music' (Carl), "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (Hysterium), "Song of Norway" (Rikaard), `7he Gondoliers" (Marco) and most recently "Sweet Charity" (Oscar) and "The Boyfriend" (Percival). Comedy has featured strongly in his repertoire, as it has for TOADS Theatre Co at the Little Theatre where roles include "Charleys Aunt" (Lord Babberly) and what he considers his greatest challenge to date as the scheming malevolent Vicomte De Valmont in "Les Liaisons Dangereuses". lain is also NODA Rep for this area with 16 societies under his jurisdiction. More recently, Iain appeared in the Toads Operatic show "Little Shop of Horrors" in which he played Mushnik.

He also keeps himself busy appearing for a murder mystery company at many hotels locally and across Devon. When not involved in things theatrical lain works as a Legal Executive for a leading firm of Torbay Solicitors.
