OUR NOMINATED CHARITY FOR 2006/07
CHILDREN'S HOSPICE SOUTH WEST (CHSW)
CHSW TORBAY, NEWTON ABBOT AND DISTRICT SUPPORT GROUP

Our Chairman Colin Gilderthorp presenting a cheque for £600 to CHSW on the final curtain of Dick Whittington 2007.
Dear Friends,
A very warm welcome to you all and many thanks to Paignton Pantomime Productions for offering us such a great opportunity to support CHSW at this performance. 11 years have passed since CHSW opened Little Bridge House in North Devon. this is still the South West's only Children's Hospice, covering Cornwall up to South Gloucestershire.
There are at least 1,000 children with life-limiting, life-threatening conditions within this area, who will not grow up to be adults. Little Bridge House offers these sick children and their families respite, relaxation, friendship and a sense of community. We share in the 24 hour care of the very sick child and provide expert palliative and end of life care, supporting the whole family into bereavement.
The demand on Little Bridge House has shown a vital need for another Children's Hospice and thanks to the great generosity of many friends, our 2nd Hospice, Charlton Farm, near Bristol, is just completed and opens in April 2007.
It is tremendously expensive to provide the very special care CHSW offers. The Charity has little support from statutory sources and relies almost entirely on the generous giving of the people of the South West to be able to continue.
Sadly, the need for children's hospices will never disappear but happily, with the support you are giving, we will be there to meet that need.
