Aladdin 2003 Press Release

Are you looking for that special Christmas treat for the family, one which will tear you away from the television and involves real people?

Then you need look no further than Paignton Pantomime Productions performance of Aladdin showing at The Palace Theatre, Paignton this Christmas.

Renowned for their high quality productions, this year’s panto thankfully, doesn’t look as if it will break with that tradition.

Along with a cast of well proven performers known and loved by the public are a couple of new faces. Richard Thomas plays Wishee Washee and Matt Bones plays The Inspector. Both appeared more than comfortable with their roles.

A sneak preview of the rehearsals proved to me at least, what sort of show you are all in for.

Plenty of humour, action and splendid costumes, as always, will provide you with an audio and visual feast worthy of any professional production.

Some of the rehearsal performances I spotted were already showing great promise although I don’t want to spoil the fun by telling you who they were. No, I’m afraid you’ll have to come along in person to see who exactly it is I’m talking about.

As always, any show must rely on the quality of the production staff and I am very pleased to say that this year is no exception.

Iain Douglas, who always manages to exact the best from the performers is Directing and with Musical Direction by Mr John Amery and Choreography by Elaine Johnson and Amanda Read, this does indeed look a winner.

Aladdin opens at The Palace on Monday 22nd December 2003 and runs through until Saturday 3rd January 2004. The Box Office can be contacted on 01803 665800 and special concessions are available to Senior Citizens and for group bookings.

Make a note in your diary now – you won’t be disappointed!
